INTRODUCTORY CERTIFICATE IN TEAM LEADING
Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM)
Aim
This programme has been designed to give a general insight into the basics of supervision and management. ILM has structured this award into modules and segments. The four modules are:
1. TEAM LEADING SKILLS
2. LEADING PEOPLE IN TEAMS
3. GETTING THE WORK DONE
4. COMMUNICATING WITH PEOPLE
Structure
This award offers a flexible delivery mode to suit the requirements of participants, sponsors and centres, which may include elements of open/distance/online learning as well as workshops. Reflective learning and personal development are essential features of the programme - to be achieved through a Personal Development Record. The structure includes the following:
1. A short induction lasting two hours, plus
2. Core segment 'The Role of Team Leader', plus
3. Five further three-hour segments selected from the full range available in the Certificate in Team Leading (minimum of
one from each module)
Duration
Minimum of 22 guided learning hours, including assessment, to be completed within one year.
Assessment
Each candidate must complete to a national standard a short Knowledge Assessment (centre assessed for the standard version of the programme and externally assessed for framework version).
